Graphic Design

a small sampling of some of my work

The following is a short summary I pulled randomly from my collection of Graphic Design works.

My Graphic Resume

A one page summary to describe me as a Graphic Designer.

I used Adobe Illustrator CC to whip this up. Designed in both RGB and CMYK,  each of the 6 main elements (the crayons and crayon box) were drawn as a separate files and expanded. I used a radial gradient on the background layer and one layer containing all the text. I then placed each element on their own layer and finished using a clipping mask Read More

My Butterflies

One of my Silk Screenings

I did this 12″ x 18″ Silk Screen in 3 different colors. It took me hours with the pen and ink to get the butterflies and patterns drawn. I used a black and white photo to draw my original sketch from, then resized and rotated copies of it to get the effect I wanted. Getting the gradient blend on the background was a fun experiment with the ink and screen.

Turn! Turn! Turn!

One of my favorite poster designs

This was an 8″ x 10″ poster I threw together for myself. I was experimenting with fixing type to paths in Adobe Illustrator when the song, Turn! Turn! Turn! by The Byrds, began playing on the radio.  Though the sequence of the words was rearranged for the song. I recognized the words from Ecclesiastes, which is traditionally ascribed to King Solomon, a prolific song writer in his day.  So, I had my Read More
